Over the recent years the world has seen a massive influx of conspiracy theories. Post 9.11, the Da Vinci-code, and assisted by the rise of the Internet, we have witnessed an invasion of highly speculative ideas with little, or no root in science or in the general perception of truth. These theories are often fronted by people who operate on the outside the academic establishment.

 

What, then, could make a highly speculative conspiracy theory, voiced by a person definitely operating on the fringe of academic circles, worth looking into?
